The Sacrament of Confirmation
“The reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace… by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit” – Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1285)
“Candidates for Confirmation, as for Baptism, fittingly seek the spiritual help of a sponsor.” Sponsors should be in good standing with the Catholic Church, frequent the Sacraments regularly, and be prepared to guide the confirmandi on their journey with Christ (CCC 1311).
